Introduction to Latin

Students enrolled in the Latin Class are taught the basic vocabulary and grammatical structures of the language.They also learn various English derivatives from the Latin to expand their vocabulary. Students become acquainted with the various prayers in Latin as well as learn about the Traditional Latin Mass. Additionally, students are familiarized with Ancient Roman History and Church History. There are also various scheduled events such as the Roman Banquet, and the Roman Games and Chariot Races that Latin students have the option to participate and compete at the end of the year. The elective is taught in two parts: Introduction to Latin (Latin I) and Latin II.
